Getting started
To access DEA data and resources, use one of our DEA Services. Or, to use DEA Products, you can get started quickly by using pre-built instances and examples and installing some software tools.
In this guide

Instances
You can access either of the two pre-built instances:
Digital Earth Australia Sandbox — Suitable for all users, containing a representative sample of available data.
National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) — Contains all available data, but users must apply for approval to be granted an account.
Examples
Examples of using code to work with DEA data are provided as interactive Jupyter Notebooks. These can be run in either instance: DEA Sandbox or NCI.
Installing software
The main software used for DEA data can easily be installed, especially if you are familiar with Python.
